Director of Software Development

Job Description
Seraph Biosciences, Inc. seeks a Director of Software Development for a position in Detroit, MI, to plan, direct, and manage the software development and software life cycle for the production of highly available manufactured devices; provide software requirement definition, documentation, secure database strategy and implementation and related coding for the development of devices.  Manage the software team from a “start-up environment” to a “commercial team” by recruiting, training, and supervising software development contractors and staff to increase headcount by more than 20.  Manage department budgets.  Assign and review the work of software developers in the areas of database development, Amazon Web Services, Security and Software Quality Assurance. Review and analyze workflow, establish priorities, develop standards, implement DevOps practices, and set deadlines. Conduct code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and embedded software integration. Develop tools and applications including cloud-based infrastructure by producing clean and efficient code. Support quality checks including milestone reviews and quality assessments.  Architect Cloud, ioT, and connected devices. Utilize the following in performing duties:  HTML, C, SQL, C++, Linux, Jira, AWS, Java, Python, static code analysis tools, Restful Microservices, Agile Development, Docker, Kubernetes, Git/BitBucket.

Qualifications
Must have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or foreign equivalent, and at least 3 years of experience in the job offered or a substantially similar position, performing all of the above listed duties.
